History
The name Inforonics is a marriage of the words "information" and "electronics." Founded in 1962 by MIT graduate Larry Buckland, Inforonics built its business developing and maintaining complex IT infrastructures. In 1975 Inforonics created one of the first data publishing and retrieval systems, serving organizations such as the US Library of Congress and the Boston Public Library.

Early on, Inforonics was a nationally recognized leader in the development and maintenance of library automation systems and completed extensive information analyses for several large organizations including the IBM Research Lab. Inforonics designed and developed some of the earliest web sites on the Internet and emerged as a leader in outsourced IT services during the 1990's touting such giants as Thomas Register, MCI and Pfizer as key accounts.

Today, Inforonics serves the outsourced managed IT service and technical support needs of its clients. Experience, strategic acquisitions and a keen eye on changing business environments have kept Inforonics at the forefront of its industry and will continue to be driving factors that sustain Inforonics' longevity in the ever-changing, ever-competitive IT services market.

  • Branded Technical Support is provided via our Technical Support Call Center (TSC), located in Littleton, MA. Inforonics tailors its technical support services using a tiered framework to deliver primary and/or supplemental support solutions to its clients.
  • Fully-Hosted Managed Services are delivered in a Tier 1 (Hacker Safe, PCI Compliant, DDoS protected, SAS 70) data center. Custom and pre-bundled monitoring solutions are available and can be implemented on-site or at a client's remote hosting location.
    • Inforonics GuardianSM – Configuring, managing and maintaining servers is a challenging and resource-intensive undertaking that requires considerable expertise and investment. Inforonics Guardian provides a cost-effective alternative to internal resources for your management needs for server hardware, OS software, Internet connectivity, and 24/7 system administration. When your servers are protected by Guardian you get skilled, experienced engineers and a set of advanced tools that assure you high availability for your customers whether internal or external.
    • Inforonics InsightSM – We combine the Inforonics Network Operations Center (NOC) and our Enterprise Monitoring System (EMSTM) into a single seamless package. Inforonics Insight provides continuous monitoring of an enterprise server or network device up to 24/7 with fault verification and customer notification in the event of an alert condition. Inforonics EMSTM polls each monitored device and interface at intervals tailored to the customer's specification. When an alert is triggered, the Inforonics NOC is notified. An Inforonics engineer will then check the customized Run-Book and perform the proper fault verification and escalation quickly and accurately.
  • Inforonics has its roots in application development and management. Through its experience, the company has developed best practices for effectively managing client applications, providing production support, bug fixes and ongoing management of existing custom applications.
